@twinklecake but we as humans can partially control our thought/perceptions, this is not involuntary muscles control, chemical reactions or anything of the sorts.. like how we can filter out noise in a crowd to listen to the person that are actually talking to you instead of random people in the backgrounds...

so why not? plus if she is in her teens, preconceived notions can still be rectified or adjusted, like how mana made her realize that she HEARS/READ people thought, but she herself supplies the vision/ visual part.. its all about practice and control...

I’m pretty sure this is the equivalent to someone shouting in her ear. It’s POSSIBLE to tune it out but it takes a LOT of effort. Aya has generally dealt with these problems by avoiding them in the past.

This chapter reminded me of a thought I had awhile ago... shouldn't it be the case eventually that Nakano will "overhear" someone, like, committing a crime? Thinking about murdering, stealing, hurting someone... with the actual intent to do it? What could she even do in that case?

I wonder if this manga would ever address it. Something tells me it's too fluffy of a story to go that dark but I can't help wonder about it.
