If you were a newly made millionaire,just won the lottery and still living in the ghetto, would you start buying expensive cars,items, etc. and bring it into the house that is still in the ghetto? No, you would move out quietly. If neighbors ask, just say you are moving closer to care for a sickly family member. I say this to say in a roundabout way, that if it were you, you would be secretive just like the old lord in this manga. The horn was a trophy for him and only him.

I don't know, a giant horn obtained through a fierce battle is not something you can just steal and sell somewhere, not to mention this here is not living a city but being a lord of a territory and showing off power is part of the daily life of a monarch.
