Minors in Japan can't enter contracts without parental/guardian permission but there's scam artists who attempt to use their likely ignorance of this fact to scare them into paying with tactics like this (just without the exorcism part).
They've actually recently made a magical girl themed public service ad to teach people about predatory contract scams since this thing has become even more common in the internet age with minors making "contracts" signing up for apps.
