Most novel website only have 1 or 2 updates a week per author.

I write web novels, and I can easily write a chapter a day. I've even written 100 pages in a week before, although that involved multiple 16-hour days and wasn't sustainable.

The release schedule is nowhere near as strict though, usually only a few chapters a week. You just want to make sure you have a big buffer for chapters in case anything unforeseen happens.

What kind scam is it? To me it seem like she's genuinely got scouted.

1. They ask her for a full synopsis and 10 chapters.
2. They tell her it’s not up to their standard and don’t wish to continue the hiring process.
3. A year or two later, the company publishes a series that looks strikingly similar to what she wrote, but with different character names and some slightly tweaked aspects.
“But she can sue them for intellectual property theft!” And where would the lawyer money come from?


Remember creative people: never ever give anything remotely usable to a company for free.
