I'd assume the other him died and she wanted to save him, maybe she can go back but doesn't want to, it could end with a lesson about leaving people behind or...I am not really sure honestly, I find japanese authors harder to predict.

That said while I get her desire to "replace" her dead boyfriend with his alternate verse self that's really not a smart idea on her part. It wouldn't be the same no matter how similar they are, and long hair Miyato is already here. I definitely think this series will end with her realizing that.

Oh thank god I'm not the only one who feels like she's acting like a bitch. Like I understand her motivation but I could never find myself agreeing with what she's doing.
Honestly I hope the ending is where the dude doesn't get together with the short hair variant but instead goes together with the long hair variant, and in the end, the short hair variant just has to accept the fact that the boy she loved is dead and has to come to terms with her grief. I feel like that's the only ending where I would feel satisfied.
