Biology and Genetic in this manga ? My curiosity about this manga is growing.
If speak about Neurology and the effect the worm inside the encephalon that would be great.

The guy's pain should be a encephalopathy and the cause is the Roundworm, the ascariasis (infection to ascaris lumbricoides) is very similar to manga's worm. But the ascaris lumbricoides infect the intestines in general is asymptomatic few can present intestinal obstruction and complications. Sometime extra-intestinal complications can involve other organs (lungs, liver, AND Central Nervous Systems ! )
So maybe this worm is a evolution of ascaris lumbricoides and only infect the brain ?
