While the material property mentioned is the correct one for "something that can survive a beating without breaking", it's also not something diamond is known for (natural diamond being ~2 in the units used, whereas aluminium oxide - e.g. corundum, or ruby/sapphire - is around 3-5. Most metals apparently go straight into multiple tens).

Should have been made of jade then.
