Even if they provided no food and water, that slave is still occupying space which could've been filled by another slave. After all, the slaver should act like a businessman, because slaving is just another form of business in this world.

@Acolytus Calm down. It's explicitly said here that she's not arousing him at all. He bought her because she's the one with the skill they need. She's young so she there's a huge chance she can pick up chantless magic and even if she can't, she's still a dwarf so they can alternatively provide her with the clay and make the dolls. They can't just buy them all. Even the richest among them (Rudeus because of dragon-slaying) would struggle to feed so many people at once. Slave trade is legal in most kingdoms in this world, so it's not like there's anything they can do against that.

So... in Novel it is a great story but if you put it in manga, somehow some people get offended?

To be honest, it is rare to see a mangs that almost follow the details in the novel. Many just take the main events and add a little bit details.

How Rudeus talks to her in beast language, the expression, and the desire, even her "price". That's the detail that you appreciate.
It will slow down the story, but personally, I prefer slow manga with a rich story rather than a quick pace story with less story... it feels an empty.

@adfjs Considering that he had to insist he isn't aroused by her in his inner monologue and literally asked for a cute little girl, I doubt it. I do know that's not the whole reason the bought her.

And I'm honestly fine if he doesn't give a fuck about the other slaves but the story treated this as Rudeus being heroic and kind, down to everyone smiling warmly at the end, when he is actually just getting the tool he needs while leaving all the other children to rot. If you are going to make your MC follow the new world's morals and not care about such things, then don't try to sell me this "omg he saved the loli, what a great guy" crap.

And even if despair is still despair, no one in his right mind would even suggest his first world-tier depression is even comparable to being a fucking slave. It's even more infuriating because Rudy coming to terms with the fact that he was an giant piece of shit and trying to become a better man is a huge element of his character development and his goals in the new world. That whole "oh poor fat NEET me fapping 24/7 and being fed by my parents till they dropped dead" feels like he is trying to justify himself and paint himself as a victim of his circumstances which is a huge load of bullshit. He choose to be the awful human being that he used to be, while the little girl had no free will or control over what her life became, their situations are like heaven and earth.
