@alacaelum: Unless this setting's humanity is very backwards in military technology, they should be able to apply the MAD strategy to make the "war" much more limited than you'd usually think; I doubt even the likes of Lorem would be able to shrug off a nuke, especially since she got pretty banged up from that one anti-demon bomb that was barely the size of a baby like Gospel. Just because two polities are officially in a state of open war doesn't necessarily mean that they'd be shooting at each other with all they've got all the time; just look at the two Koreas, which spent over 60 years without having actually signed a peace treaty.

Pretty sure in previous chapters they explained why the demons with the power of mass destruction like Loren is so rare. It's due to the fact that while still young their bodies are torn apart by their own power due to being unable to control it. Add this with how the demons would fight each other and humans, it would lead a lot of children turning themselves into living bombs in the heat of the moment. Lorem got lucky that she had a sister that can heal. I suspect that now that they don't fight as much, it'll cause the demon race to slowly drift into two distinct types. Ultra powerful demons born from the powerful demons that survived due to not having to fight and the powerless demons who will most likely integrate safely into human society.
