The author's doing a bit of gender role reversal here where he's basically the parttime-working younger housewife doing the chores and listening to her husband talking about the woman at work he admires.

Its all about commitment when you old enough to love someone you want to be with.

I believe that my wife's father was 16 years older than her mother. That's a lot more socially accepted than if that gap were in switched. Gossip with an older guy would be "lucky guy" while the reverse would be more "pervy cougar robbing the cradle".

Why now that they're a couple is the author making Takkun out to be the more psychologically mature one of the pair? It's kind of degrading to Ayako's character development given her long internal struggle to be the responsible one and whether this is right to begin with since he's practically a step-son. Like yea I totally get she's a 30+ virgin who is excited for romance, but the way Takkun is being written as the "logical grown man who understands everything" now doesn't sit well.

It may seem socially acceptable, but people do speculate around, like was it money, fame, status, or the guy being a perv for young ones. For some reason most relationships i know has the man being slightly older. I guess it kinda makes sense considering men mature later than women?

My parents have an age gap of 25 years. I like to joke with my young friends, "don't rush for a relationship, who knows maybe your soulmate hasn't been born yet"
