Dude should have taken her to sleep at his home and invented an excuse to his daughter about how they met or something. Daughter would likely want to help her friend.

Power of being a third person observer is that if anyone asks "why were you togheter in an aquarium" I have had enough time to just think the best excuse is saying "I wanted to take my daughter out somewhere and asked her friend for help in fun locations".

MC is pretty weak minded. I understand being vulnerable but he's finally patching things up with his daughter and yet he's still being lead by the nose with this girl. He "needs" her which is fair considering her involvement with him did help. But he should have put his foot down and avoided this kind of situation with the mom. That's a HUGE issue right now. And now she wants to go all the way before shit completely hits the fan.
