@MrBeaver That's really not the case. An accusation like that would have HR looking everywhere for an excuse to fire you, because whether true of not, an accusation alone is enough to damage the reputation of the company. Not only that, but HR would have reason to exist as a department by dealing with such a claim. While it's unlikely he'd be fired on the basis of the accusation, there are usually laws against that, 'letting him go' due to poor performance is very much within the law. So too is placing pressure on him enough to cause him to quit. The accusation would give impetus for greater scrutiny, higher expectations, and harsher reprimand.
The fact is, people don't tend to send anonymous emails containing accusations of child abuse, so when one appears it is a bit of a big deal.
