I think all this situation and pressure from koto lead him to take full responsibility on his action. Something like "I initiated all this crap and i will finish it, I dont care anymore".
Now with this, all is kosuke fault not Koto. He kinda give in to his desire that goes beyond helping her with her family troubles.
It could have been handled better but this was more funny and exciting.
