I saw this manga in my twitter timeline and I had to read it just from the cover alone. Glad it got picked up.

I wonder if its gonna be a new character for the next chapter. Seems like an alright end to this sad story right here.

Omg, this woman is the best friend you could ask for going head to head with abusive dad to get her remains.

@criver No.

There is no such thing as a clear wrong or right in life. If you are unable to comprehend something as basic as this, you shouldn't talk to begin with.

Look up some books about philosophy. Not for me, but for yourself.

@Ekfreet Yes.

There is such a thing as a clear wrong or right in life, with respect to some set of criteria (be it morals, laws, ethics, or something else). If you are unable to comprehend something as basic as this, you shouldn't talk to begin with.

Look up some books and papers about philosophy, ethics, law, psychology, biology, formal logic. Not for me, but for yourself.

Bold choice to pair such a heavy subject with the sometimes cartoonish art style but it pays off in making the wild emotions palpable. Very well done. The artist is plenty capable of switching between that and a more detailed/realistic/serious style when it's called for. Wish I had better art vocabulary to describe it, but this is an absolute pro mangaka.

@Ekfreet
This post screams "I just started college and think I know shit". No, maybe you just read some things on reddit and watched some basic bitch educational youtube videos or something. Either way, you've reached the summit of "mt stupid" (that's a real thing) and moving on is going to require killing your pride.

No one ventures into philosophy without discarding their pride, neither does anyone make something productive out of a serious discussion if they let their inferiority complex cloud their judgement.

@criver

As you guys don't wish to refute the statement I gave of 'There is no clear wrong or right in life' but resort to fallacies, I will play your game then.

Explain the reason why you know that some actions are a clear or absolute 'evil' to not just yourself but to every living human being.

How is it a fallacy telling you that there is quantifiable right or wrong as long as you have defined the meaning behind those? Or even better, that abusing physically and sexually your daughter is wrong? And no, you cannot weasel yourself out of this by just pretending that going without any definition is anything but sophistry.

Speaking of weaseling out:
to not just yourself but to every living human being.

Nobody ever mentioned anything about the subjective perception of "every living human being" - that's just you trying to weasel out. You just wanted to go with the good old sophistry argument, of not being able to distinguish right from wrong if you have no definition of those (because you tried to use the subjective perception of all people simultaneously to build your "definition"). No shit Sherlock. You know what's also special about this argument? That it's basically useless rhetoric gymnastics, as it literally says: if I haven't defined what's P(x), I cannot say what is P(x). Truly a genius assertion.

Now let's get back down to Earth, shall we? Just take any definition of good involving maximizing the happiness of the majority of its members - then just from that perspective what he did is bad. Take a moral or ethical perspective - once again his actions are bad. Take a law perspective - his actions are once again condemned as unacceptable. Take an evolutionary perspective involving social animals - once again his actions are bad, and there's a whole mechanism known as revenge developed in order to rectify such deviant and harmful to the society behaviours. Take a purely biological and neurological perspective based on empathy - once again his actions are bad. You could go on - heck, as long as you provide a good definition of good and bad, you can exactly quantify them. One can go further - going with an informal definition of good and bad consisting of labeled (and unlabeled) examples. Train a neural network with those, and it will tell you what is good, and what is bad (based on those examples).

Congratulations, you are right. You just explained how you differentiate a 'bad' action from a good one, good job. I asked about an absolute evil. Would you mind start talking about something other than the obvious? If you truly thought that this discussion was about that I dunno to laugh or cry.

I explained how people in general/on average/in terms of the mathematical expectation, differentiate between good and bad - there's always a criteria and a definition - at least if you want to say anything beyond sophistry bs.

I asked about an absolute evil.
No you didn't - scroll up. You just tried acting "smart" (aka stupid) when I mentioned that beating and raping your daughter was clearly bad, by just pulling a sophistry argument out of your ass. If you actually stuck to the principle of charity, we wouldn't be having this argument in the first place. You literally misinterpreted what I said, just so you could plug in your "what sophistry argument I learned today in class", ultimately making a fool out of yourself.

If you truly thought that this discussion was about that
Right back at you - I am not the one that butted in with no rhyme or reason trying to misinterpret what I had said, just so I can have a piss contest over who can fit in more sophistry into a comment. The discussion was about the manga, and about the fact that her father had a very large part to play in her mental state and suicide - regardless of whether he regrets it. And precisely about misguided (in this context) statements such as:

No-one is wrong, and yet no-one is right either.
