Also, I love that she is in favor true communism.

She is assuming humans will behave in favor of a nebulous collective and are not individuals at their core.

If she knew more about humans she would quickly realize that communism wouldnt work the moment she figures out just HOW many bad actors there are that would simply be lazy and do nothing but be parasites. She needs to learn about incentives and the like.

Besides, she trusts him a lot and has shown zero hostility. At most she would pout if he tells her off

Her assessment makes it seem like the creature is under some vague assumption that everyone would just contribute to the shared resources, and not attempt to get more than they need, or just lase around if it came to that. She does know humans aren't on some level of hivemind right?

100% she doesn't understand that. Her goal is to learn and understand humans, remember she didnt even know about having to ration your money and getting kicked out.

I bet she is mixing humans with insects as both are the only species that build things on such a large scale. Meanwhile humans are fundamentally individuals, we just leverage incentives well

"What you're describing is called "communism". It's been tried several times, but the problem with that system is that it requires profound centralization of power and a massive bureaucracy. Turns out when you put those two things together, the people you ask to run the system will abuse their power to enrich themselves obscenely, to the detriment of everybody else. Usually it's the representatives of the government who hold all that power, and are the ones who become corrupt. You get narcissism and cronyism in your government officials, and usually the ruling group will excise anyone competent enough to be a potential threat, resulting in absurd levels of systemic ineptitude.

Though, nobody's ever attempted communism with a direct democracy, which I figure would have the best shot at actually working. A direct democracy would divide power among all the members of the society, so nobody would have enough power to take advantage, theoretically. Then again, that would have it's own issues, like populism and political parties, so I'm not convinced it would work any better.

The American Amish have a fairly successful collectivist system, but it's only been done on small scales and in ethnically uniform groups, so I don't know how it'd work world-wide."

That is also part of the problem, yes. It would have been extremely valuable data for there to be more small communistic states to study (as opposed to say, the USSR, which was Massive). Perhaps communism works on smaller scales only. If so, what are the upper limits of it's viable scale? Having more data on that would be valuable.

She might be leaning a little into altruism. According to her the best thing would be everyone helping each other out. This isn't just about how capitalism sucks but why people not helping each other sucks.

I'm sure if I read this again while focusing on stuff like her being homeless, smelly and weird then I'll find it to be funnier.

Pretty much every developed economy (certainly every western nation at least) has an extensive enough welfare system that sleeping rough (though not necessarily homelessness as they are different) is a choice. Of course she probably doesn't know how to access any of it. Obviously Senukin being Vietnamese and therefore this probably being set in Vietnam I don't know how extensive their welfare state is but I would also like to point out something ironic considering the state of the comment section.

Fair assessment, if it wasn't for her possession abilities, she'd be dead for sure.

Part of that is because she doesn't understand the world, if she did then she would probably do better. People sleep rough all the time without dying.
