No, he still doesn't get the point, Nozomu said that he already tried to explain to the school teachers what happened but no one believed him, what difference would it make if Kagosaki told them, they didn't even try to ask Kagosaki if he was a victim like what Nozomu said, they preferred to side with that jerk and if Kagosaki told what happened that jerk could deny it because there was no real evidence while on Nozomu side they clearly caught that Nozomu hurt that jerk

The other part is did Nozomu even recognize Kagosaki? I think he just saw a girl in trouble and intervened. So he could only say "he was attacking a girl who looked like this"; and since she just holed up at home from the trauma she wasn't available to provide counter evidence.

To say nothing of the school admin being hesitant to investigate. Not only would - its not really sexual assault, I didn't see any assault on the girl take place just yelling and being intimidating so lets call it Domestic Violence - but that would be a difficult investigation to run quietly, parents would be very unhappy about their children being questioned about it.

Some parts of the US you have to get a blood test done for 1st cousins. My state was one of those because there was a population with a lot of co-sanguinous marriage and the associated negative effects.

I think saying they're OK with it is a little strong. I think a better term is they have accepted it and feel no need to stop it if it happens. GRANDPA is completely on board though.

Then she mentioned how extremely unblood related we were and as 2nd cousins marriage was completely OK, didn't require the blood test.
Me and my cousins were suitably grossed out by the concept.

I think his dad might have had something to do with why he moved away from the school. He looked very angry when he left to talk with the school.

Oh, for certain, he did. Which is why I hate him even more now. His son almost gets his shit kicked in, saved only by a stray nail, and rather than fighting tooth and nail to get the actual offender suspended, at minimum, he folds and sends his son off to live with relatives permanently while lying to him and saying it's only for the summer? This series just keeps giving more reasons for me to hate MC's dad. Absolute worst part of the story.

Like I get that the translator wanted to keep the title drop, but the problem is that the"official" english translation of it is a horrible mistranslation. That dialogue sounded awkward as well because no one talks like that, and it doesn't even fit context (nozomi calling sou cute would 100% garner a big reaction). It would be better to just keep it as "she's my cousin..." or something similar. "My Cousin" is the original (and actual) title of this manga anyway... so you still would've preserved the title drop.

weird how no one pointed this out. even sou herself didn't take notice of this, wtf.

That's because this is a title drop moment, and the title is "itoko no ko" which means simply "cousin" (referring specifically to the female version of cousin).

The title of the manga got somehow wrongfully translated to a much longer sentence in English, "My Cute Cousin Always Gets Her Way", which is not what the author intended for the title to be!

Here, Nozomu says she's his cousin in the Japanese version, but since it works like a title drop, the English version decided to drop the wrongfully translated title, which doesn't work at all for this scene!
