The more I read, the less I like the FL. She's one of those that only thinks in "story" terms, only thinking about characters that she's read about and not stepping outside of the "narrative". My biggest gripe is she never asks or cares about her own mother, because she's not in "the story". The logical thing would be to at least try to get the mom on their side, since she's an high ranked ability user like the dad.
