Honestly, can't even empathize with her anymore. She gave him hope and then completely shattered that hope. I'll be pissed if he easily forgives her in the future.

She is going to completely undo everything her daughter did for her just because she is just an absolute dunce. This honestly irritates me just typing about her actions. He should not forgive her and make sure to find someone better and be extremely happy just to show the dumb broad what she messed up.

Rather than her being an idiot, at this point I think it's some PTSD that she's not self-aware of.

Her last life was so oppressive that she seem to have had nothing positive in life except her daughter (and the oppression became 'normal') and even now that she regressed before all that she's become so afraid of 'everything' that she clings to her daughter - the one thing she's 'certain' she can be happy about.

So the only way for her to start moving on is for someone/something to break her 'certainty'.

I feel like the 'protection of time' from her daughter will be key to that.

She is having selective memories; everything about her marriage memories are vague. At first, the recall seems like her personality, but now I'm agreeing with you that something is blocking those memories.
