Part of it is the whole summer fling of it all I'd think. It's out in the open that Xingyuan is only temporarily there (it's Yunduo's property she's short term renting after all), she's on a public countdown, and she already gave Xiaoen whiplash once about her intentions.

Yunduo is on the other side of a (likely always doomed) marriage herself and has experienced a lot more damage in life. Xiaoen starting something that likely has a sad ending is probably difficult for her to watch regardless of how she personally views the nature of their relationship going way back.

What she doesn't get is how hot lesbian bakers don't grow on trees and emotionally uhauling is an appropriate reaction.

Same thoughts, I also think she has bottled feelings for Xiaoen that she will keep it tight for the sake of “normalcy” and thoughts of other people especially her dad. But the more she kept it the more I think suffocates her, that’s why she bursts a little to her dad asking isn’t it enough for them, her, being a good daughter? Setting her up for another guy since she’s divorced and her dad has shallow thoughts of it’s a good thing for his daughter and not bothering asking her what she truly feels.

So many adults wishing for Xiaoen to act more "mature". That makes me laugh. People who have been ruined by life don't know how hard it is to keep our inner child alive in those times and days. Xiaoen is mature enough to know that that trying to be something else is futile and right now she is the best version of herself. Period.
