i normally wouldn't like xu qi either, and would rather she fecks right off to hell-- but I think part of why I find her tolerable is because (a) she was never really much of a threat, (b) she's so fucking pathetic actually lmao, and (c) I'd be a hypocrite if I dismissed/hated xu qi just cause she's a bitch considering I ship stuff like chansaw/rejanis/pansmione lmao. and also, (d) I just really, really like xiao-chen.

to me, a huge part of what makes this entire dynamic compelling is xiao-chen. but it's also the fact that we don't get to see more of what transpires between them.

in a weird way, as much as i want to see more of chen chong, i don't actually want any more exposition about her with xu qi (and that's me saying that as a sucker for redemption arcs and what not). if we get a quick spin-off a la sadistic beauty side story a with xu qi, i want her to be with a different character.
