Considering the sheer vast amount of absolute garbage being produced by Japan on a daily basis, I still find it weird that "mid content" can't survive for at least 50 chapters.

Guess the Japanese readers want something they can self-insert in.

Jokes aside, I thought this was just a self-published manga on Pixiv/Twitter, and that the author chose to end it himself.

It was, but I went to look at the raws and it did say "To be continued" on that last page, so either something happened to them or they lost interest in it.

Judging from the author's previous self-published works, it wouldn't be too surprising if they just got bored of it.
