Please don't treat someone with a nose bleed this way. Lying down is similar to tilting your head back. This can lead to you swallowing blood which can lead to vomiting or in extreme cases cause them to choke on their own blood.
Stand with your head tilted foreward/downward over a sink or container. In most cases it will stop soon.
