Hmm, this is the first chapter which maybe felt a little weak to me, relative to the others. Specifically, because the male lead seemed like a kid who's trying to guess his birthday present. I didn't feel as much of the kind of jaded, dark ambience of himself in previous chapters, where it felt like he was a person with common sense on the surface but on the inside he calmly disregarded his own safety in pursuit of a certain feeling. I appreciate that dark yet purehearted aspect of him.
This chapter made the manga feel a bit like an extreme version of Nana to Kaoru, with the same "I wonder what the next breather will be" sort of approach to storytelling. Well, that's interesting in its own way, and it's not like this is necessarily the start of a trend either... For example, it's very possible that after this mini arc they will decide that it's better to not try to expect her to perform for him, and maybe he will also decide it's rude as a boyfriend to be thinking things like "is this all she can think of" (not saying I dislike those things, just saying that thematically it could go either way... the fact he's "using" her could be focused on by the author if they choose to). But well, even if this chapter is the start of a trend, it'll still be much more awesome than a typical manga. Ultimately, I still loved this chapter.
