Like, I get that AfO's backstory should be unhinged, but I honestly don't consider this to be MHA anymore. This chapter honestly makes me wish the series would hurry up and end.

The only interesting part about this is showing the early days of quirks appearing. The AfO stuff though I think is shit. Apparently two literal newborns, one of which is underdeveloped, were able to survive by themselves... gtfo. Also the part showing AfO eating their dead mom, again as a newborn baby, is so fucking stupid to see, with this whole thing being cringe writing.

This whole fucking chapter is fucking hilarious. I'm sorry, but NEWBORN babies, who were birthed in filthy conditions alone by a whore mother under the bridge, somehow frickin survived RATS and getting washed away by the effing RIVER. My suspension of disbelief has been reduced to atoms. AFO's backstory is fucking RIDONKULOUS.

I feel like AfO's backstory would have worked better if it was placed somewhere around the Vigilante Deku arc, but now here we are after waiting through so many other stories, such as Uraraka & Toga, the Todoroki family, and even that one class 1-A kid with the arms. I feel like I'm missing some other stories, but point is the Deku and Shigaraki story has been interrupted so many times now, and now it's been interrupted again for what will hopefully just be a single chapter, but knowing Horikoshi it'll likely be at least one more chapter, potentially spilling over into an additional one.

Interessting people here think so negative about it. From what I've seen, the chapter mostly got positive feedback. Yeah, I want the fight to wrap up too but I'm happy AFO doesn't have a tragic past but was just evil from the start.

Every time Horikoshi attempts to dive into the deep societal issues that emerge from his superpowers setting, it becomes painfully obvious that he wants to say something, but has no idea what to actually say. So instead we get more shit like he's already done before where society is cruel, or whatever, but also some people are just born as violent, remorseless psychopaths who are innately imbued with an unquenachable desire to make everyone around them suffer. All that stuff about being some tragic characters being downtrodden or born in cruel circumstances or abused or having some really traumatic experience is totally just incidental to the reality that they were always evil.

okay, what the fuck?? the whole manga is like "nobody is born evil! even mass murderers don't deserve to die for their crimes!" but then here it's "nobody is born evil, except this fucker, fuck him!" like, what the fuck?? this is SERIOOUSLY some dog shit writing right here also his bullshit backstory of some prostitute and now having a home at all as a child, yet he still can speak perfectly fine and even somewhat read? are you for real? this just reeks of stupidity and bigotry
