The way he bought all of the dresses without seeing whether they looked good on her is smh. She may not even like them and you went ahead and bought them all without consulting her. As the reader, I was stunned by how he didn't even think to ask her what she thought of this.
She went for custom made and got readymade without even being able to enjoy the shopping experience. Idris could have had a wonderful experience within that store and found some things she liked, had other things altered, been complimented a few times by her husband and the shop keeps, etc etc. But we got this experience instead.
Then the way he bought the chef over is... 🤦
Khalid, what are you even doing? That's not how you woo a lady. You need to pay attention to her preferences. He looks so proud of himself for doing all this 🤦 is it even possible to dissuade him?
I don't blame Idris for not knowing what to do with this bizarrely nice version of her husband suddenly throwing mountains of gold at her without even pausing to consider how it might affect her. Now she's scared, not knowing why he's being like this.
Khalid has no romantic experience, got it. Good job author in being able to express this with only the few hints about his background and his behavior. Good job artist for the smug "I did good didn't I? Yeah I'm a good boiii" expression that conveys everything.
He looks like the type that wants to get casually and consensually stepped on.
