@himeleth , keeping people from spreading that information about Japan's consent laws without the proper context. In general Japan allows prefectures a lot of freedom in setting their own local laws I believe.
I also respect both the author of this manga for caring about the ugliness of human trafficking and I respect Lei Scans for helping educate in the translator notes at the end. Human trafficking is a big problem in lots of parts of Asia in general, esp. in places like Indonesia as well. As to China, it depends on which part of China you're in. Keep in mind how huge that country is when talking about it as a culture because you could fit most of Europe inside it. I suspect kidnappings don't happen
as much in the wealthier areas, that's usually where they're being taken to.
(this sort of thing is actually rampant in North America too, just usually with girls being kidnapped in Mexico and parts of central America to fill the USA's brothels. It's really horrifying how ubiquitous this sort of thing is.)
