You know, someone said in previous chapter discussion that she had internalized misogyny, the logic and argument they used to say that was wrong in my opinion, but with Kanata saying this:
I wanted for someone to make me happy.
And I thought I needed to fill the role of a "girlfriend" for that.
And that would lead to unconditional happiness.
Can't help but make me wonder if they were right but for the wrong reasons, because isn't that mentality 101 toxic heteronormativity and sexism / misogyny? That you as a woman need to find a man, get in a relationship with him, marry him, one day have children, and that will automatically give you the perfect and ideal Woman Happiness™?

Of course right after Kanata says how she was just being spoiled and self-centered, which to be fair can be just as true really, you don't need society pressure to believe that, plus the story is too lighthearted to go that route since it's just presenting it as being proof of Kanata growing as a person due to her love for Hana.

Still, can't help but feel the other interpretation is also valid, especially because realistically speaking that probably would be the reality for many lesbians and bisexual woman.

Or maybe my brain is being funny and I'm thinking too deep about it :thonk:
