I mean nothing wrong with being 'kind' and not wanting to make your mother worry but hopefully some ppl would be able to tell when a kid is uncomfortable/putting up with it, if just simply never truly being happy all cutesy and dressed up (tho i imagine it'd be worse if she was trans/dysphoric since ppl are even worse with their kids in that case even if they might 'accept' just being gay), although plenty of women wear pants/specifically have 'feminine' capris and such so unless her mom flipped out she shouldn't feel obligated to put on a skirt everytime
