my yuri allies, I have an important question. Sure it was fluffy, sure it was a good story ssuuuuuree they are still in contact after how many years but... can we categorize this one as yuri bait?

Well, tecnically no. Both Yuzu and Sei explicitly said they're in love with Hina, so there's an actual yuri. We can consider it unrequited, or with some speculation, a pretty loose ménages à trois.

We use to have "Yuri" as the real deal tag and use "Girl's Love" for the subtext but "Yuri" was removed along with "Yaoi" that had served the same purpose for reasons unknown to me

Sometimes in the heat of the moment, you can mistake bait for a meal and delude yourself into thinking you're actually eating.

I've soured more on this chapter when I reread it this morning and came to the realization that Hina friendzoned the two women who have been in love with her (and still are from the looks of it) for over ten years in classic straight girl fashion. Friendship is great but not like this!

Unlike some of the dissatisifed commenters here, I'm more annoyed about this than the baiting. The baiting here is not a catastrophic narrative failure like it would be if The Guy She Was Interested In Wasn't a Guy at All ended with Aya and Mitsuki as just friends. This was always lower stakes, half-expected something like to happen from the start.

I think from the context she's actually a stylist or something similar. The line about Maron liking Yuzu's design strongly suggests a possible future crossover, but it could just be bait. I'd love of an arc of Yuzu/Hina/Sei collaborating and flirtatiously arguing about the perfect eldritch fashion horror for Maron to wear. Hopefully the author will learn from their mistakes...

See a lot complains about the yuri tag being used. Maybe look up what category yuri is from a Japanese standpoint. Here, I did it for y'all. Wiki...sure it's wiki.....still probably correct? Oh and read the whole text not just the beginning. And read it carefully.

This has always been Yuri. It's just that the 'west' has a different opinion on what yuri is. Doesn't mean I had the end I wanted but heh, you can't always get what you want 😝
