iirc there's some kind of spider youkai that spins a child using its thread, that acts as a lure for its victims. I wouldn't be surprised if in the next chapter or so it comes to life as an actual child, surprising both of them.

I actually got the impression that she has a poor grasp of how the actual rituals surrounding marriage works. She absolutely didn't understand the implications of the ring at really any point; she's probably just kind of inferred what marriage meant from observing humans and no one before Haru has had any reason to correct her.

I don't think we disagree. From said inference, she still assumed "by intent" that they were already married and went quite along with it. As you wrote, the ring definitely did not hold the same significance for her as it did Haru.
