Naw, my read is that the Mantis Waifu was born under a blood moon and had the curse. The curse manifested itself and she killed her village as a child. Taya came across her and blocked the memories out and started working on a way to remove the curse. So Mantis is under the thoughts that her village were murdered by Taya and not her. With the curse amping her up to want to get revenge.

I wish there had been more set up, more hints, and much more time with this character. Those 3 would have made this chapter so much better, But even without those this chapter is still a really great. And absolute bombshell of lore droped in these 36 lines is crazy.

no. it was the girl who killed her own village. she is the cursed one who was born under a blood moon. Taya erased her memories and replaced them with a different reality where Taya killed her family in order for her to not go insane.

Sounds more like Mantis girl killed her own family while under the thrall of some kind of bloodthirsty curse...Spider girl manipulated her memories so she wouldn't remember doing so.
