I highly doubt the zoo shop he buys them at gets them supplied from wild catch.

Also, this bug eating trope is nothing but that and it's screamingly unimaginative and self-serving and good for about two jokes, tops, and they've all been made now. There's no reason why a human-sized arachnid species would need to feed exclusively on insects, wouldn't have evolved to catch and consume larger prey (good luck catching half a kilo of flies a day or so), and as such couldn't survive and thrive on more accessible and affordable fare. Really the only reason why spiders aren't known for consuming chicken nuggets and steak is because those rarely rain from the sky and get caught in their webs.

You really sound pretty miserable, huh? Also it feels like you’re repeating things you’ve heard that you think sound relevant and biting, but in actuality has little to do with the situation at all. My little niece did the same thing, but thankfully she grew out of that.

That is only under ideal conditions and best of scenario. Half the time I drift off while listening to GiantGrantGames's Starcraft videos. Dunno why but it really helps soothes me to sleep. Something about his voice.

I mean to be fair, she's arguably not an evolved spider person, but rather a kind of youkai or other supernatural being. At that point what and how much they need to eat can easily be down to things like what people imagine (like how humans were scary immortal monsters to them) rather than any kind actual physiological need.

Kinda like with vampires, if they were ACTUALLY drinking blood for physiological sustenance, they'd need like 3-5 liters a day to get a normal daily kcal count, almost a full person's worth each day.
