1. It simply never came up, and he isn't really prone to digging up the past.
2. Some things could be REALLY hard to brought up and talk about. Especially family ones. Especially ones that are that deep and complicated and leave scars you don't want to touch.
3. He simply didn't want to put all of his own personal problems on his spider fiancee. After all, it's his own problems, not hers, and you don't want to burden your SO with it. It's okay to share if it's being dug up on occasion, it's not okay to use your SO as your personal therapist.
