This. Is he working both jobs or not. It was never cleared up. Like most people I thought he quit to be a stunt man.

In chapter 56, when Taya convinced him to do the stunt job, he said he would take a short leave. And then in chapter 59, he was told that his two month leave for his knee surgery was approved. (Though that was after the surgery actually happened.)

I think it's really easy honestly. Most (or all, hopefully) of these people don't want a literal mother by that. It's just people being lonely and wanting (romantic) love/affection, not even necessarily perverted (I know plenty that fit this description) Sorta cringe? Maybe. Though I wouldn't let "cringe" decide anything.

Fair enough champ you do make a good point and that is a good way of looking at it. I wouldn't call those that crave companionship or relationship cringe or anything it's understandable and a bit sad in a way. Though I do think there are better ways to convey that message.
