Now I'm really interested in the backstory of how Taya's new parents met.

The dad seemed to have a lot of hatred against humans (makes sense, seeing as what kind of yokai he seems to be) but he apparently married a human woman.

I'll toss my guess: saved her from some ruffians and then she goes "you all bone down there too?" or something and he got instantly intrigued by this specific human.

HONESTLY. What would be DARN cool is to let the series wind down, and then, as the author has time/interest, pop in and add new chapters here and there. Side stories. Other characters. Fun interactions. Stuff about their kids, or their first time on vacation, or remodeling their home. Slice of life stuff from time to time, added by the author, like a hobby.

But honestly, I've read some good series that overstayed their welcome by delaying the ending. This series is starting to feel that way at least for me.

If it’s that easy to move on, the relationship might not have been as solid as we thought.

Don‘t get me wrong, I do hope she would be able to find love again, but it won’t be that easy or done casually.

The other day I saw one bad comment in the older chapters and the author did playing around and said that the story will end soon.

I hoped the series continue until the very end, not short, but when the author finally satisfied with the series and the conclusion he made to the series. Thank you @NeitheYAGI

The question is if it's a good idea to make his life that long? Taya is born into the reality of a long life. But Haru is human. There will be a lot of challenges, wonders, and cruelties he will face in the future. Things that Taya experienced and learned from during the centuries of her life will be something Haru will eventually face, and it can lead to breaking him like Taya's Father.

I think it's better if they value and enjoy the time they have to spend together. The whole Don't be sad it ended, Be happy it happened. And Taya won't be left alone. Haru gave her family, his legacy.

I would give my point back if Taya and Haru really talked out what life would look like after his eventual death before her. Maybe not today but it's something they should both prepare for.

Especially if his humanity affects the children's life span, that's a whole other discussion.
