If i'm not mistaken, all we know is that Taya talked to someone over the phone that gave a convincing story.

If Abandonment, convincing Taya to keep Sana for One More Day™️is more time for Mom/Female Guardian to disappear before police become involved (because I'd assume police would likely have returned her to her legally responsible adult on that same day.)

If Not Actually A Child, it is a bit weird that Taya hasn't yet noticed, I guess.
