I really don't like the shift from slice of life into a high-stakes battle manga. Bro skipped the whole marriage for "intrigue" with ancient evils.

Same.
While I find these battle very nicely drawn. I do think it would have been better if they weren't there.
I'm okay for high stake intrigue, but then just skip to the important parts.

Many arcs ago, Spider lady confronted her birth father. Many of the things I have seen regarding the action elements could’ve been said there, but people liked it. So what makes it so different here?

It was a one time, it was sudden and it was the first time. And the ratio fight/slice of life was still very much on the slice of life side.

This battle comes after the battle with the husband in the box which was itself before all the preparations for the battle. The ratio shounen manga/slice of life (counted from after the heart transplant) gives much more place to the shounen part.

One time is an exception, third time it's not. This imply that the battle manga direction is something author wants to keep.

The battle part are more detailed too now. First fight was short, not a lot of panels.
Which put more emphasis to this impression.

I’ve given it a bit of thought, and I think the mangaka is aware of this.

Inbetween the conversation with Hiro and the current Jade before this confrontation, we had exactly what you guys were asking for: small moments of Taya, Haru, and Miharu. This “sandwiching” was probably Nei’s way of making sure there was some slice of life stuff in this manga.

Similarly, after this arc ends, there probably won’t be any more action stuff until the finale (which is soon, since their wedding is after this if my timeline collection is correct). Meaning there’s not much to worry about for long.

I'm sure someone already wrote this, and I'm sending this to the garbage pile of 4 pages of comments, but:

Man I REALLY did not want this manga to have so much bad vibes. Why the fuck was this sort of "sacrifice your child, sacrifice your husband, sacrifice your father" sort of narrative?
Sure, not everything has to be 100% fluff and fun, but full-blown battle and drama as a form of epilogue (I assume) for what was otherwise a really cute comic? :/

For me the action stuff doesn't really work because in comparison to the daily life stuff which were allot more random even with references the action stuff is too predictable and feels hollow. Random strong bad guy/woman shows up, reveals evil plan, gets stomped into dirt but then its revealed a bigger stronger bad guy/woman was behind it and then gets stomped too rinse n repeat. There is no tension or hype behind it. Although complaining about it is useless since I am reading it for free but I still hold to my opinion that this manga should have ended ages ago or at least when they had the baby. And even though it's highly predictable to me it somehow manages to be confusing and convoluted too with the deities, new characters, villians etc that are showing up left n right. Just keep things simple, simple is good.
