Its a more general Asian mythos to have rabbits associated with the moon, its that well Tsukiyomi is the literal Japanese moon god, and one of his sacred animals is a white hare which are basically buff rabbits.

While I find these battle very nicely drawn. I do think it would have been better if they weren't there.
I'm okay for high stake intrigue, but then just skip to the important parts.

It was a one time, it was sudden and it was the first time. And the ratio fight/slice of life was still very much on the slice of life side.
This battle comes after the battle with the husband in the box which was itself before all the preparations for the battle. The ratio shounen manga/slice of life (counted from after the heart transplant) gives much more place to the shounen part.
One time is an exception, third time it's not. This imply that the battle manga direction is something author wants to keep.
The battle part are more detailed too now. First fight was short, not a lot of panels.
Which put more emphasis to this impression.
