"Mom, I like girls."
"Son, what are you talking about? You only have dads 😭."

Jokes aside, the manga plot seems like something I'd see in my nightmares but it's so out of the box that I think I'd enjoy it. It's really hard to imagine a world where a woman liking a man would been considered weird. Other than that the school atmosphere looks fairly normal. If everybody's hetro, then shouldn't people have more friends from the opposite sex? If they're in a relationship and still hanging out with people from same the sex (other than their partners) wouldn't THAT be weird?

...gay meteorites. Authors are really running out of premises, huh.

It's not even that interesting. Remove the meteorites and their effects, turn both childhood friends the same sex, and it's really just your typical "gay teenager falls in love with a hetero friend" story.

Probably gonna end typically, too. Where the love interest is turned gay because the plot demands it, regardless of whether it makes sense.

iirc the mangaka is a gay person IRL and wanted to create this manga for people to understand the other perspective(?). They made a post in English due to the backlash.

You would think that there would be more hetero friendships if everyone is same-sex attraction.

That's what I'm asking. I have never really interacted with a gay person before (not that I can think of)

As a queer person, a lot of gay people are often friends with each other. We can "sniff" people out and have a certain "vibe" to ourselves. A famous example I can think of is Siegfried and Roy. Both were famous gay entertainers that people assumed were together but saw each other as brothers. A lot of queer people tend to have "found families" because of how they are abandon by their real families so their LGBT friends become so important that they feel like "family."

But I am curious about how the mangaka will do with opposite sex friendships if they will be treated like "gay friendships." I believe some of the manga is from her own experience as a gay person herself.

This is exactly the type of person I thought the author was tbh.

I was about to say, that is a lot of effort to go through just to write a homosexual couple without writing a homosexual couple
