okay...........so is no one gonna say that..erden literally has a mirror in his hand. or does his reflection to himself appears to be blank like that of hi fathers?
@412001 Erden is cursed, so his face appears ugly to everyone, even himself. Our MC seems to have the ability to see his true face. Based on previous chapters, I think that it is implied that the more beautiful/handsome you are, the uglier you appear.
Okay, so she's not a witch but a demon. It's canon.
All jokes aside...
1) why Erden's father's statue doesn't have a face? is it because
a) they didn't want anyone to accidentally glimpse it (and then for Erden to accidentally hear he's handsome)
b) he was too handsome for the craftsmen
c) his handsomeness was stolen by a demon
2) what if that person who warned her is a demon, vying for Erden's face next?
...
Why the curse argh, what's the story behind it???
She's a demon, so she sees the real him... if she wants to lift the curse she will gonna need to find whatever demon she saw in her vision. At least is what I'm betting on, the history doesn't seem afraid to put romance in the backseat for the more fantastical elements so I'm looking forward to it.
"Blah blah blah... what's the main point?" LOL self-aware manga @Bloodemperor I don't think so, from my understanding it's just that Leticia is probably the only one (or one of the only people) who has ever seen his face. The other guy in this chapter said he was blind, not that his face appeared blank. Everyone can see Erden's face, but the curse is that if someone tells him he's actually handsome, then he dies.
@Sparks I thought the same reason too.. But then I read other people's theories and realised that this one is too basic. But if this is the real plot.. Then we all win and guessed right. But it is also explicitly mentioned that erden will die if he knows of his beauty. So that made me debunk the theory which you and I thought
According to the previous chapter if he finds out he's not ugly he'll die. No one who is able to see his true face can reveal it, which is why the statue of his father is faceless because he was under the same curse.
So the man who makes his mask is actually not blind right? The author seemed to hint at that since the man clutched his beenie when he talked about lies which shows he's self conscious of about his eyes being blind. Why might he be self concious? Probably because he lied about being blind
