My friend, you've just described classic poor writing.
But I still have to say, considering we had weak, lukewarm, but okayish writing in most of this story until the end parts, the author actually had to try to write the ending so poorly.

Also I want to point out that the "author's fanbox NSFW posts" is insanely overblown, he literally posts cropped contextless semi-erotic nudity-less (think no nipples, barbie-like bodies, no genitalia) poorly made arts of his characters.
I wondered what people meant by the fanbox stuff possibly being inchapter stories, but holy shit this is peak copium.

It's not even proper NSFW too. In fact I found a single (one) artwork that has genitalia in all of his art and it's a character from Splatoon LMFAO.
