There was a glitch on MangaDex a couple of years ago that broke comments. So there's a chunk of chapters that don't have comments from the time when the chapter came out. The gap started at chapter 143:

101 comments on chapter 142 and only five on 143. I guess this is when the big MangaDex forum-wipe glitch hit.

The short story is that at some point SUDDENLY the staff said that they've found a security hole, so they're shutting down most of the site. Then they said "Hey we actually wanted to do a REDESIGN" so let's get the ball rolling.
And so for years we had limited site functionality and for years we didn't have comments because... reasons.

It was extremely frustrating, especially since for, again, years, people couldn't access their comments, people had whole convos, links, references, community there, but one day it was gone. GONE.

It's good that they returned the comments, but for years it was up in the air if they would and if they didn't lose all the data.

Oh, did I tell you how nobody really asked for the redesign and how the OG site was exceedingly functional and efficient?

But oh well, it's all water under the bridge now.

Sigh, all good things must come to an end tho.
People are saying "lmao it took 200 chapters" but they're forgetting that in most cases romance manga ends on them admitting their feelings and getting together because Love is Boring the trope.
