Everybody commenting on the important stuff, and here I am about to make links to another story I read recently.
This is now the second tsundere I can definitively say has a fear of lightning. The other being Chitoge from Nisekoi. Every time she cowered from lightning, or the dark (her other big fear), Raku was there for her. And Futaba will always have senpai to keep her company in the same way.
I probably need to see more tsunderes, because I feel like it's probably a more common vulnerability than I think. Just one of those things to make them seem cuter in their fear of something, and the vulnerability prompting the male lead to show his protective instincts. Because the tsundere tough act is just that: an act, to shield their vulnerable inner self from harm by people getting too close. But then the male lead appears, and they can't help but want to be close, but fight their defense mechanism to do it.
