Yeah, the first season was good, but the second changed the formula too much. It is as Varler, Sharkexpert12 and starburst98 said it. There was a noticeable drop in quality, yet the second season wasn't abhorrently bad. I wish it would have been rounded up in 1-2 chapters instead of being dropped so hard.
As far as the drop of quality goes I blame things like introducing two new antagonists out of nowhere, one of them was Lucifer in the flesh, and opening the gates of Hell, so the world is going to end.
- I guess there was a need for an antagonist, so that cant be helped. No complains there, but Lucifer himself? The boss? I don't know, if Anastasia is a famous demon in mythology, but she seemed to be pretty low in the hierarchy in the story, as far as I remember. So one of the arc-demons as love-rival should have been more than enough. Using Lucifer always reeks of overkill.
- I can also live with the introduction of two antagonists, a short time villain and a long term love-rival, that's also fine. But the way, they have been introduced was so ... well *flopp, splap* Here they are. I wish it had been pulled off better, but I also could accept it. Yet again it hurt the quality a bit and things add up. Maybe a short slice-of-life arc (7ish chapters long), with one, maybe two, hints dropped (a rising number of murders of crows in the background) would have smoothed things out.
- And it's suddenly the end of the world, because of what the protagonist has done..all demons now can do whatever they wish in the human realm...talking about overkill. Pull that kind of move in season 5 or yet better pull it never.
That Lucifer-thing and the EoW...right in the beginning of season 2.
Welp, I can't complain about the art style though. I liked both.
