I think author just didn't wanna get bogged down in the details of how exactly they started dating, since the focus on the manga is on their married life, so they just kinda skimmed over that part as quickly as possible. Maybe that made it seem like there wasn't much of a reason for them to get together. But I mean, if that's the case, she didn't really have much of a reason to like him either. I choose to believe that the deepening of their relationship simply happened behind the scenes.
