@Ritvik123 Confused? Strange, the story has managed to remain very consistent despite it being a chinese comic. In the story so far: after a civil war (led by the MC, strongest person in this world) a new empress rose to power (the MC's wife). The aristocrats are trying to undermine her and gain power. The MC is not aware that his wife is the empress, but since the aristocrats' plot is threatening his peaceful life and the safety of his wife, he decided to investigate on his own and drop hints to the imperial guards. As part of his investigation he found a ledger that incriminates the aristocrats. The aristocrats sent an assassin to recover the ledger.

In this chapter: the assassin tracked down the ledger to the MC (this bit I'm not sure about how she did it, apparently some witnesses saw him right before the ledger went missing). So she was spying on them while the MC and his wife had dinner. It appears that the empress is not a trained martial artist herself, so she can't sense presences and such. There's some light comedy about the assassin being borderline incompetent, and eventually once his wife goes to sleep the MC places the ledger out in the open to bait the assassin and confirm that she is indeed after the ledger, meaning that she was hired by the aristocrats he was investigating. Since he doesn't really care about the aristocrats as long as they don't threaten his wife, and the assassin was mindful enough not to make a scene where his wife could see, he offers her a choice to abandon the mission or die. The assassin makes the smart choice and surrenders immediately.

@NorakReal hmm well theyre not exactly sniping it. They started doing this series on youtube before us, but since they never uploaded to mangadex we didnt know about it. After we picked it up they made a separate mangadex page for this series titled "My Wife is Actually the (Female) Emperor?" and uploaded a couple of their chapters there. Then that page got deleted by a mangadex mod because uh, yeah. 🤣 then they asked us to drop it even though they're using machine translation and we said no, so they started uploading all their chapters on mangadex.

@Jorid I've seen ur youtube comment. You said you know Chinese but is not fluent so you use google translate and then fixes some stuff that are obvious mtl mistakes. On top of that, I have some decent experience with translating so I can easily tell when a sentence is machine translated. Especially names and terms such as "Heavenly Prison" instead of the correct "Imperial Prison."
And no, I'm not using it as an insult. It just didn't make sense to me why you would ask someone else to drop a series when you're using mtl to do it, much less with basic grammar mistakes. I don't mind the competition at all, and we've never asked you to drop it. It's not our problem that you didn't upload to mangadex. Most readers don't read comics on youtube, and we're not going to drop it just because you told us to. We never uploaded the chapter onto youtube, did we? You've been getting decent views (7k) on youtube, so again, really don't see the reason behind asking a group to drop when they're only posting it on website. If you really did not want the competition you could've just asked for a collab (which we likely would have agreed to back then). I personally wouldn't have minded helping you fix the mistakes. In fact, I actually have been. Hint: Teemo.
Now don't get me wrong, I've got nothing against your decision to continue translating this series, especially since you got sniped a few times before on your other ones. In fact, since you do know a little bit of Chinese, your translation quality is actually much better compared to most other machine translations. And I do appreciate you for that.
So I hope you also respect our decision to continue doing this series. After all, we're all doing this as a hobby and because we want to. It's not like either of us are big groups like Asura or Reaper who place quite a high value on revenue earned.
A quick tip: whenever you want to pick up a new series, upload the first couple chapters on mangadex to "claim" it, and upload the rest whenever you want. Now, it won't necessarily prevent others from sniping you, but it does lower that chance of that happening by a ton
I do apologize for my outrage on that one chapter a few weeks back 🤣

@Jorid thats fine n all but after comparing both the tl quality theirs is better so people will obvs read theirs(no offense here) but since they are alr better why not continue other series that people are dying to read? It just doesnt make sense dude stop wasting your own time the readers are only gona read one chapter since another group with better translations have also picked it up around same time as you people will most likely read theirs .
And im an english reader so i can clearly tell mistakes so dropping this series would be your own good and picking up series from macedon scans that he hasnt translated in a long time would be more beneficial Or collabing with macedonscans would be better

@HotHotChicken Sorry, I was overwhelmed by my emotions the thing is spreading that this scans using machine translation is just getting on my nerves, i also don't mind the competition(i also know you're teemo it's obvious), let me clear, last time i said I'm not so good at chinese and very busy so i have to use machine translation as a guide, i mean't that I'm so slow at tling plus I'm very busy "At That Time", most of the mistakes are only at yt,
also 天 means heaven, 牢 means prison, the heavenly prison is like heavenly palace which also known as imperial palace

天here refers to the empire/kingdom. It has always been used to refer to “imperial” in such settings.

Like i've said before @Jorid and us are both doing it as a HOBBY. ITS FOR FUN. if he wants to continue, let him. there is absolutely no harm done. Readers mostly do benefit from having multiple versions. And some people do actually read all the different versions, so its fine.
