I think if ren reasons for existence changes, he wont disappear even after oto return to her world. At first he came into being is because of oto and his sole goal was to get her home. But with the connection he made with others, it's may very much changed and shaped by others too. Ren said it himself that connections with others is what defines a person's existence. I thoughg it was just a metaphor at first but it seems to be a foreshadowed by the author how his existences is literally bound by others.
