alright let's do this part by part i'm cracking my knuckles

it's clearly more complex and messy and widely spread in myther's case, but i think pretty clearly kano's whole deal is inspired in large part by the main theses of frankenstein particularly the titular doctor who made the monster and thus is forced to contend with the consequences throughout the novel. the philosophy of man creating an entire life with his own hands, the arrogance that has to take for somebody to even think of that, the inevitable tragedy that's going to result from this man's actions. kano has such a god complex to nobody's surprise, what's interesting is the way his god complex dr frankenstein story is being interrupted by outside interference. i really wanna see more of his inner thoughts and watch him spiral out of control

then with kana and chihiro... once again it's such an inevitable tragedy that even seeing supposedly happy scenes happen are bitter due to knowing it'll all go wrong and mean nothing in the end. the more kana and chihiro's story unfolds the more it looks sorta like a commentary on the increasingly common thing of people becoming pathologically over-attached to AI. kana isn't communicating with a real person who has her own inner world and could be truly her friend, kana is interacting with a being that was made for a specific and exploitative reason. that exact reason is still up in the air, but what isn't is how kana is truly doomed...

then there's the completely unsurprising but still exciting reveal that vani is the one in kyo's recurring dream. this is probably being framed to raise suspicions of kano's honesty, of vani's involvement, and more than anything of kyo's origins. did kano really and truly make him with his own hands? he's already having to wrestle with mythers that were tampered with and have escaped his intentions as the original creator, who's to say he hasn't also lost control of kyo?

but also vani's expression intrigues me. there's a pretty great chance that it's straightforward and he's just excited to see kyo whom he had some hand in the creation of and whereas the other mythers he's given out have pretty much all unequivocally failed, kyo clearly held the highest chance of succeeding since he's existed for so long. but i wonder if and i hope that it's more of a twist as the answer. vani's expression when he hears of kyo looked to me like it could almost be vengeful and there's just as much of a chance that vani has some grudge or history with kano and that's the context through which he knows kyo. who can really know? either way i'm yearning for the more unpredictable thing to be true

as always thanks SO much for translating, i love you guys y'all are amazing and so fast about it 🥰
