You know, all this talk of "oh you have a family name, you must be a noble from somewhere" and I think it every time, that's not weird. Lots of family names that are passed down, aren't from some divine origin, or royally appointed, they're just abbreviations/contractions of the family business, or the label put on you based on some notable relative in the past "you're [Blank]'s kid" disregarding the generations entirely. You'll be that person's kid, whether they were your Father/Mother, grandparent, or however many greats ago grandparent.
