In works like this one set in the "real world" that moment when someone is about to get raped is similar to when in fantasy or action series there is a character that looks like its about to die. It creates suspense and tension, and if it really happens, drama.

the situation was too contrived, but I know people who get hotheaded enough to make reaaaaaally stupid decisions like the one she was making. To everyone saying this is an H manga. No. This is not. Just because there is a lot of sex and the plot isn't upto your standard does not put this into the H category. There are tons of other manga with similar content but does not fall into the Hentai category. Jeez, this is like the 4th chapter after the translator repeatedly told that this is not H and I still see comments saying "Wow why isn't this Hentai hurr durr"

As much as the translator want wider audience to read this manga, its still basically rated for 18+ which is a seinen ( and I assume this was published on C Red Ichigo? ).
Reading the comment so far tl has successfully attract a wider range of autistic ' teens and kids' instead who never bother to read the tags.
